Ireland’s first digital skills primary school programme! CLISTE (Computer Literacy and Internet Skills Through Education) provides a carefully designed curriculum and resources based on input from experienced educators, parents and IT professionals. CLISTE consists of lesson plans covering the essentials of computer science, information technology and digital literacy.

Through careful analysis across the 11 primary subjects, each lesson plan focuses on achieving existing learning objectives from other subject areas and integrating them with IT knowledge and skills. Each lesson plan can be delivered as a stand-alone lesson, as part of a defined strand e.g. digital citizenship, or as part of a recommended scheme of work within an overall yearly plan.

Employment growth in the EU from 2013 to 2025 will be driven by service sector jobs, especially in higher-skilled areas such as professional services, business services and computing. With a programme like CLISTE in place, we can equip students with the IT skills that will prepare them for the future, opening doors of opportunities.
