St Edwards becomes the 4th Sligo school to receive the Digital Schools Award and that puts Co Sligo top of the league as regards the county with the most Digital Schools in The West.
The school’s achievement is no small part due to the dedication of the Principal Mrs Jean McGowan and Miss Sinead Grimes, the ICT Coordinator who worked very hard to get the school ready for Validation. The both the Jean and Sinead also wanted to thank the commitment of all the staff in the school for their commitment.
Many parents and friends of our school attended the ceremony. They enjoyed a tour of the facilities in the school. Children acted as tour guides on the day to demonstrate how children and staff use technology on a daily basis throughout the curriculum.
In the school, children from Junior Infants to 6th class use PCs, laptops, digital cameras, scanners, printers, digital video camcorders, interactive whiteboards, internet, educational software and other aspects of technology as part of their day.St Edwards is one of the schools to avail of the NCTE's scoilnet.ie domain name which provides free web hosting for school in Ireland.
