it@cork Excellence in Education Award

   will be holding its annual “Leaders Awards Ceremony” on Oct. 22, 2009. At this event, organisations that have succeeded in the use or development of IT will be honoured.
 
This year, the event will feature an award for Excellence in Usage of IT in Education. This award is open to primary and secondary schools from the Munster region, and individual students, classes, teachers or schools may be nominated. Self nomination is acceptable.
 

To enter, applicants need to satisfy one or more of these criteria. The evaluation criteria to be used will be as follows:

• Student engagement in the understanding and usage of IT for educational purposes;
• Teacher engagement in the advancement and exploitation of their own IT-related teaching skills;
• School engagement in the development and maintenance of comprehensive IT facilities for pupils and teachers alike;
• Significance of impact of the work in the local region; and
• Extent to which the initiative is based on voluntary effort.
